What insurance do I need to deliver with DeliveryApp?

There are two types of insurance your vehicle will require to be activated on DeliveryApp:

Hire and Reward insurance:
This insurance is legally required when you are carrying items in return for payment.

‘Goods in Transit’ Insurance:
This level of insurance is available at a low monthly rate from most vehicle insurance providers and it covers for any loss or damage to the goods while in transit.

  • All van drivers will require a minimum cover of £10,000.
  • For cars, Goods in Transit is optional but some customers require a £5k minimum cover.
  • DeliveryApp will cover the cost of any genuine claim up to £250.

Optional: ‘Public Liability’ Insurance:
Public Liability Insurance covers you against claims for accidental injury or property damage caused to third parties while your fleet are delivering.

Optional: Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is a government agency in the UK that provides criminal record checks.
DBS is optional, but it may be required for some deliveries. Having it could open up more job opportunities for your fleet.
